About Concrete Contractors Rio Rancho
Concrete Contractors Rio Rancho is a residential flatwork business for Rio Rancho, Sandoval County and the northwest side of the Albuquerque metro. The work is the concrete outside a house: a driveway or RV pad, a back patio, a stamped entry, a side-yard path, a pad for a shed, and the repair of slabs that have split or dropped.
Three things the mesa does to concrete
It dries it out. At about 5,500 feet, with July highs averaging in the mid-90s and very dry air, fresh concrete loses surface water quickly. That is why our summer pours begin at first light and curing goes on as soon as the finish is done.
It freezes it. Mean lows in December and January sit right around 30 degrees. Concrete that is air-entrained, finished without added water and sealed handles those nights; concrete that is not tends to flake.
It soaks it, suddenly. July and August storms are short and heavy, and some New Mexico soils settle when they get wet. So the slope of the slab and the path of the roof water matter as much as the concrete itself.
Start to finish
1. Site visit. Measurements, a look at the grade and downspouts, the truck route, and anything that has to be broken out. 2. Written price. Each part of the job is its own line, so nothing is buried in a lump sum. 3. Rules check. We find out whether the City of Rio Rancho, the county or another town has a say in your project, and we remind you about HOA approval if your street has one. 4. Prep day. Excavation, compaction, forms and steel, with the fall of the slab checked before any concrete is ordered. 5. Pour day. Placing, finishing, joint cutting and the start of curing. 6. Hand-off. Dates for foot traffic, cars and sealer. If we hit something unexpected while digging, the change and its price are written up and approved by you before we go on.
Cracks in a house foundation or walls are outside flatwork. If that is what we find, we tell you and point you toward a structural or foundation specialist.
